Payments in the Daily Log
Take a game or season payment from the Daily Log, undo one if you record it wrong, and see the history behind every team.
Overview
The Daily Log doesn't track attendance. What it does give you is a fast way to record who's paid, on the spot, for a team or a player, and to see everything that's already been taken. Only tonight's game and the current season can be paid from here — an older, unpaid game shows as a debt (see Fixture Management) but isn't something you can settle from this screen.
Taking a Payment
Click Take payment on a team's card, or Pay on a player's row, to open the payment form:
- Choose what it's for. For a team this is Rest of tonight's game or Season; for a player it's Tonight's game, their share or Their season. Each choice shows what it covers — for example a player's share reads $10 of the $80 fee · team then owes $40, and a team's season payment reads whole team, $800 left, also covers tonight's game when the game is still unpaid. Season only shows up when the league has a season price.
- Check the amount. It's filled in with what's owed for that choice, but you can change it — you can't type more than is owed (see Overpayment Is Refused below).
- Choose how it was paid — Cash, EFTPOS, or Bank transfer.
- Click Record $X cash/EFTPOS/bank transfer for <name>.
What a Team Card Shows
Each team's card leads with one balance — e.g. Owes $120, with $50 tonight · $70 earlier under it — and one Take payment button. A team whose season pass already covers tonight instead shows Covered by their season pass. Nothing to take tonight. Credit the team, a player or an entrant holds shows as Has $30 credit; to spend it, choose Credit under Paid by in the payment panel.
Under the card, Players lists everyone on the sheet with a Pay $X button next to anyone who owes for the game, a quieter Pay $X earlier button if tonight is settled but they still owe their share of earlier games, or a Pay $X button if only their season is unpaid. Payments lists the team's history — see below.
Paying Earlier Games
Take payment opens the panel on tonight's game; tick its Earlier games row too (or instead), which lists each game still owed (e.g. 5 Sep v Storm $20 · 12 Sep v Lightning $50) at their total. The amount is spread over the games oldest first, each paid in full before the next, so a part payment settles the oldest games and leaves the newest part-paid. More than the total is refused. It is recorded as one transaction: tonight's history shows it as Earlier games · 2 games, and one Undo restores every game in it. A player's Pay $X earlier does the same for their share. A season payment never covers earlier games.
Paying Several at Once
Marking several teams or players paid in one go is a Duty report feature — see Duty report for how it works.
Overpayment Is Refused
You can't record more than a team or player currently owes — the amount is checked against the league's price on the server, not just against what's typed. Typing too much is refused with a message and nothing is recorded. If two people try to pay off the same team's last dollar at the same moment, only one payment goes through; the other is refused the same way.
Retrying Never Double-Records
If the connection drops after you press Record, pressing it again is safe — the same payment is recorded once, not twice, however many times the request is retried.
Payment History, by Transaction
A team's Payments list groups everything recorded together as one row — the time, the total, how it was paid, and who it was for (a player's name, Guest, Team · game, Team · season, or, for a group of several players, 3 players). A row covering more than one payment can be expanded to see each one.
Undoing a Payment
Right after you record a payment, a toast reads Recorded $X · <method> with an Undo action, available for ten seconds. You can also undo an older payment from the team's Payments list — click Undo $X next to it. The confirmation names everyone the payment covers and undoes the whole transaction, not just your team's part of it.
Undo only works for payments taken on the Daily Log itself, and only before they've been exported to accounting software. A payment taken through the POS terminal, or by card, has no Undo button here — refund it from Financials instead. Undoing doesn't erase history: the record stays in Financials, marked as voided.
Where Payments Show Up
A payment recorded from the Daily Log lands in Financials, in the team's finances, and in the player's balance — the same as a payment taken any other way.
Who Can Mark and Undo Payments
Marking a payment needs a role that can record payments. Undoing one needs a role that can edit payments. Without those permissions the Daily Log is still fully viewable — on desktop and on phone — you just won't see the payment buttons.
