Starting a Match
How to launch a fixture or quick game in the Scored Scoring App and get a match underway.
What the Scoring App Is
The Scored Scoring App is a desktop application for Windows and macOS. It is downloaded from your Scored dashboard and installed on a dedicated device at courtside. The app connects to Scored to receive fixtures and sync scores in real time.
Opening the App
Launch the Scored Scoring App on the court device. The dashboard opens automatically and displays today's upcoming fixtures. The header shows your facility name and the current connection status.
The Dashboard Layout
The dashboard is split into two panels:
- Left panel (Upcoming Fixtures) — lists all fixtures for today. Each fixture card shows a date badge, status badge, time badge, home and away team names with avatars, a league name badge, location badge, and sport badge. Use the Refresh button to pull the latest fixture list from the server.
- Right panel — contains the Start Scoring button for scheduled fixtures, and the Quick Game panel for ad-hoc matches.
Starting a Scheduled Fixture
- Review the upcoming fixtures in the left panel to confirm the correct match is next.
- Click the green Start Scoring button.
- The court scoring screen opens for the next scheduled fixture and scoring can begin immediately.
Starting a Quick Game
Use the Quick Game panel to start an ad-hoc match that is not in the schedule:
- Select a sport (Cricket, Netball, Volleyball, Basketball, Football, Badminton, or Pickleball).
- Select a scoring template.
- Enter the home team name and away team name.
- Optionally expand Advanced Settings to configure overs, periods, balls per over, or other sport-specific options.
- Click Create & Start — the game is created and the scoring screen opens immediately.
Connection Status
The app header shows a connection status indicator. If the indicator is red or orange, the app is not connected and scores may not sync to the dashboard. Check your network connection and contact support if the issue persists.
Refreshing Fixtures
Click the Refresh button on the Upcoming Fixtures panel at any time to pull the latest fixture list from the server. This is useful if a fixture was added or updated after the app was opened.
